Ricky D: How can i make myself a computer administrator on a limited account?
I have a Windows XP and i’m wondering how to make myself a computer administrator on a limited account? I already tried to start up my computer and press the F8 button but for me it doesn’t show safe mode. It says “Insert CD-ROM or hard drive”… something like that.
Does anyone know any other way to switch a limited account to a computer administrator? And I can’t ask another computer administrator on my computer because no one in my family is an administrator, but I would like to be so please helpp!!

That is impossible without an admin account.
Best thing to do is backup your files and format the disk.
When you reinstall windows, make your admin account
Well, There has to be an admin account on the system unless it was deleted if that is the case then there is not much you can do aside from reinstalling OS. Or you can take to a professional who should have software to get in and reset. I do have this software but I won’t share it here.. do to hackers and such..
but you can try to log on as User: admin or administrator and no password and see if it works as these are common default users.

Answer by Jason HThere is a usually a hidden Admin account in safemode unless it is deleted. the reason why you are getting a screen to insert cd/hdd is becuase your BIOS is stupid and uses keys that are commonly used by windows. you have to hit the F8 button after it passed the first screen you see. once it goes blank again start taping the F8 key. You just have to get the timing right.
Once in safe mode the Administrator account has a blank password, find your user name or create a new one and ta da.
