Meg: How can I ask my mom to let me go on birth control?
I’m not planning on having sex with my boyfriend but if something did happen I wouldn’t want to mess up my life. My periods are all over the place and my friend is on it and says it helps her. Plus, my periods are so heavy and last really long, and I heard it helps thin them out too. I can’t really afford it on my own so my mom would have to know but is there some way I can get it without my mom think I’m having sex?

Tell her exactly what you just said [about regulating your cycle.] She’s a woman, she understands birth control can be used for more than just protection from pregnancy.
Get some information on the pill or birth control method that you want to use. If your parents know that your period is all over the place if not let them know. Tell them that you want to get on a birth control method to regulate your period. Even if you are on birth control and planning to have sexually intercourse with your partner USE CONDOMS! Try to stay calm when you talk to your parents and let them know your not planning on having sex and that they should trust you.

Answer by StarlightWell what do we know about birth control, it helps clear up acne, it regulates and thins out your periods and it helps prevent pregnancy. So out of those three things, I would mention the first two to your mom, I would tell her that your friends doctor suggested she take it to regulate her periods and to thin it out so she wouldn’t bleed as heavy and tell her that yours are really heavy and you’re worried about it and that you;d like to go see a gyno. Or if you have acne you can tell her that you’ve tried everything and that the bc is really working to clear up your friends skin so you’d like to ask the doctor if it would work for you as well. And if worse comes to worse and she says no, there are free clinics in almost every town where you can get birth control for donation only, and they can’t tell your parents due to doctor patient confidentiality, but I would use that only as a back up option. I think if you explain the first two reasons to your mom she might not freak out as much. Good Luck!!!Answer by allybabes24492

JUST TELL HER YOU WANT IT TO HELP WITH YOU PERIOD AND AND ACNE! LET HER KNOW THAT YOU ARE NOT PLANNING ON HAVING SEX… IF ALL ELSE FAILS YOU CAN GET IT WITH OUT HER JUST GO TO A FAMILY PLANNING CENTER I HAD TO BECAUSE MY MOTHER THOUGHT IF SHE PUT ME ON BC IT WOULD BE A LICENSE TO HAVE SEX!!! THERE IS ALOT OF REALLY INEXPENSIVE BC OUT THERE! GOOD LUCK HONEY AND BE SAFE!!!

Answer by KaTiE♥Tell her exactly what you just wrote, and ask her if she’d rather pay for birth control or a grandchild.Answer by sweetums789
you could always sneak to the health unit and get some privately behind her back. Or you could be like “mom, im pregnant” and then she will get all mad and say im not really but i would like to talk to you about birth control in the even that something should one day happen.
