Valerie: How can a trans woman survive the summer?
Summer. Layers come off and clothes show off women’s figures more than during winter. For me being outside is torture. I love the weather and all the things I can do except for the fact that I can’t go swimming because I haven’t had surgery. I always compare myself with women who aren’t trans. I’m constantly thinking “that woman has bigger breasts”; “that woman has smaller breasts but has a smaller build than I do”; “that woman is larger than me but curvy, unlike me”; “that woman is skinny”; “I wish I looked like her.” Now I pass rather well, but having small breasts on a large frame, narrow male shaped hips, and a more masculine face just makes me want to hide inside and never go out. I hate my clothes and I don’t think anything looks good on me. I definitely don’t like to wear anything that shows off my fat stomach; which pretty much means I can’t wear anything attractive or fashionable. How do I get over this and stop comparing myself to other people?

you sound like every woman I know, including me. Most of us are always comparing ourselves to others! It’s important to realize though that while you;re worrying about what you look like to other girls, all the other girls are too busy thinking about their own insecurities to even judge you.
So seriously, wear clothes you feel comfy in that are light and breezy and try to do things that make you feel good about yourself. good luckAnswer by Leslie W
Hey listen you are your own person regardless if your a man or woman! God created you for you. My best friend is a lesbian and she has alot of trans friends and most of them are men wanting to be women and I think that even though your wanting to be a woman in the future you are more than likely always going to have your big frame. My best friend is absolutely gorgeous and she is almost 6 feet tall and when we were growing up she thought of it as such a bad thing but know she loves it. I think that your going to have to get comfortable with your own body before your going to be happy. If being outside is what gets to you maybe your not wearing that right clothes that look appealing on you. Take a girlfriend shopping with you and have her pick you out some clothes. We women know how to make things look good on our bodies!!! I know that you must hate this but until you get comfortable your never going to be happy with the way that you look. I’m sure your beautiful no matter what you look like! I hope this helps and…girl you go shopping 🙂Answer by Jennifer D
I am a female and I feel the same way. I have smaller breasts and a large frame and a pudgy stomach. Are you wanting to look like a female. If so try a 1 piece mastectomy bathing suit. These are made for women that have had their breasts remove because of cancer and wear a dress over it. I am assuming you are transgendered going from male to female, If I am wrong I am sorry but that may help. Try the links below.Answer by lisa t
hehe yeppper girly world can suck when it comes to swimwear evry girl has going thru her head my boobs are too small , too big my stomach is not flat enough my hips are too wide too skinny im not tan enough !!! only a few selective women can wear a bikini and make it look really good . but a hint here one piece swimwear can cover or hide flaws and accentuate good areas . just put it on and get wet or sand between your toes . here is wisdom , most peopl are so involved in their own lifes they really dont care what you have or have not in your swimwear or under your skirt .Answer by Jay B
Oh sweetie, I really feel that. I’m a transguy who loves to swim. I will not go to a public pool beacuse they won’t let me wear a t-shirt.
You need is a bit more self-esteem there girly. You don’t have to look like the other girls, that’s all just societies pressures. You don’t have to have big breasts, curves, or be skinny to be nice looking girl. Just enjoy life, have a great summer and get out there and smile!
