This is the Quarter Horse Registry. Your horse will not be registered with a state but rather with a nationwide association or registry. Contact them for a way to identify your horse. It may or may not be possible depending on your horses age.
Answer by [email protected]contact you Quarter Horse Association but their going to need a number to check and see if she’s registered the person you bought her from should have given you her papers if she’s registered . They may be able to find her by her sire and dame if you know who they are and the year she was born. Good luck go back and demand her papers from the seller.Answer by Sean C
https://www.iqha.com/ This is the Indiana quarter horse association they would probably be able to tell you about the registry and like the person above said about the aqha, the iqua is a sub branch of them. Hope this helps. You could probably re-register your horse again if they can’t find any information on him/her.Answer by free2ride_cowgirlup
IF you know your horses real name for example my horse’s name is Silvers Mark Her but we her Frosty. So if you know the real name you can go on Google and type it in but if not then you have to have the papers. That lady you bought the horse from was supposed to give you the papers.Answer by aenigma
If the horse is registered, why didn’t the seller give you her papers? When purchasing a registered animal, they should ALWAYS come with the papers. Anyone can tell you a horse is registered, but without papers you have no way of knowing if it’s true or not.Answer by Shawn E
Indiana quarter horse association is a sub-set of American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA). AQHA provides registration papers (maintains a stud book).
If a horse is purchased as a “registered horse” a signed bill of sale and a copy of paperwork to transfer the registry papers will be included when you purchse the horse. Without the signed transfer paperwork, it is VERY expensive and sometimes impossible to obtain copies of the papers in your name.
To locate the horse’s papers, call the last owner or trader who had the horse. Ask for the papers. Ask who had the horse last– get a phone number and call them. Ask what the horse’s registered name is supposed to be.
If you obtain a name for the horse, go to aqha.com go through member services, type in your horse’s registered name, request an ownership report (about $ 5), contact the last owner on record, request a copy of the horses papers. If the last owner indicates the horse was stolen– IMMEDIATELY call your local law enforcement and report the problem.
Best regards.

If your horse is a Quarter Horse, then she will be registered with AQHA. You will need to know her registered name or number if you are contacting AQHA. You cannot just call them up and say “I have a mare here in Indiana, is she registered?” If you had her name or number I could look her up in AQHA records for you.Answer by TimberLost Farrier Service
Well, your going to have to find out if your horse is in fact a Quarter horse before you see if she is registered. Ask the person you bought her from what her registered name is (if they say she is registered). If you can’t find out that much, check her upper lip for tattoos where you may find out through these associations listed below. also if she has a brand, check with your state brand registration to figure out where she came from. good luck.
