Have you been scammed/frauded by companies offering to sell Nintendo Wii but will only accept e-Money transfer

Rodeo64: Have you been scammed/frauded by companies offering to sell Nintendo Wii but will only accept e-Money transfer
I was a victim of a fraud/scam by a company using the name datastarsinc.com, but once they had my money they took the site down and turned off their cell phones, then came back as startmediainc.com with new phone numbers. I have a lot of agencies on alert and was able to help at least two others that I know of not get ripped off. Are you a recent victim, please let me know so I can get your details to the authorities. I need to know what the name the person you were told to wire the money to is/was? What was the name of the person on the e-mail? And what name did the site use on the internet? Lets work together to shut these slimmy people down.
I want to thank everyone for helping so we can stop these guys. I have passed all the info I have gotten to the authorities. Although they are using a Toronto Address they are not in Toronto, I am currently working with the Special Fraud Unit (they deal in internet stuff) of the Toronto Police that work with the RCMP & FBI to get the info to them. I also have been in touch with the ISP to get the site shut-down. The more info we get to the the better. Also we know now the names they are using to have you send the the money sent to are fake.
One of the best ways we all can stop this thing is to flood the internet with messages not to purchase! Lets make everyone aware and just know that they will shut down this site soon and pop-up as someone else as they did with me. Stay alert, alert the authorities! 🙂
I have had a few people question, please let me try to help set your minds at ease.
1. If you filled out the info on their site there is really nothing that they can do with it info.
2. If you gave them or the e-money site your SSN call the police and the e-money people ASAP!! then close the e-money account immediately.
3. If you did a money order make sure NOT to give the scammers the confirmation number. If you do NOT give it to them they have no way of getting your money.
4. If you did a money order less then 5-10 mins ago call the e-money folks immediately and see if you can get it stopped and get your money back.
5. Call their ISP Omnis Network LLC, and tell them about this fraud & call the local police.

If they have your money already it is looking like we are going to be out of luck.

I am going to talk to Interpol and see what can be done about our money. If anything changes with that I will post the info.
Take Care and thanks to everyone for sharing

Answer by Smile Like Umean It
Never happened to me. Always sites that I’ve known about or linked to sites that I know about.
I’ve bought online quite a few times and after I find a site that I want to buy from I Google it and find any kind of info or review I can.

Sorry about your bad luck and good luck to whatever you plan on doing. I’m grateful for the warning still.
Also, I’d recommend you invest in Firefox and McAfee SiteAdivsor. They’re free, but priceless.

I just purchased a Wii online, sent my money and have not been able to contact anyone at the listed numbers. We have reported this to local, national, and canadian authorities. I guess if it seems too good to be true it is. The website was/is startmediainc.com and the person’s name on the payment information was/is Sheena Panzica. This sucks!

Answer by Ngu N
Sure, I am glad to give you the info. I was about to submit the MoneyGram reference number to this web site , but decided to do some detective works and found lots of reports about this scam. I was very close to be the next stupid, naive, gullible victim.
