This small parrot was my best friend and very sweet until last summer when we took in a couple more parrots as rescues. Meyers parrots are jealous to a point but I had no idea he would get this mean to the point where he bites unexpectedly, with no provocation. He doesn’t let loose either so you might as well know, once he starts biting, you will bleed. He is like a snapping turtle!

I haven’t had a Meyers but I do have other parrots, anyway about 6 yrs old is their “teenage” hormonal stage. And with your new additions the jealousy on top is a double wammy. I’d try to spend more time with him letting him know he’s still loved, but don’t reward the bitting.
I have a goffin cockatoo and she’ll clamp on I have a water bottle close by and if she sees it she runs…It’s set on stream for “disapline” with a firm NO!! I hardly spray her anymore, she sees the bottle and runs into cage and turns her back. LOL. But I also use another bottle on mist for hot days letting her know it’s bath time..Sorry for rambling… Good luck!
