Go to the store, and try several. You’ll want one that feels comfortable against your body. Depending on the size of your hand, look for a neck that is not too thick, and the strings are fairly close to the frets. I recently purchased a Mitchell 12 string, and was quite impressed with the quality, sound, feel, and price.Answer by sara p
Check out any and all music stores in and around where you live. Talk to someone who knows what they’re talking about and make sure you ask everything that you want to. Good luck.Answer by Thekunt2

Buy a classic if you are a young girl. They are easier on the nails and fingers. Ibanez and Yamaha make cheap one for under $ 100 and very good for the money.Answer by Catman
The best acoustics for beginners are made by Alvarez.
I especially recommend the Alvarez RF20SC.
This is a cutaway folk body style with a solid Sitka Spruce top and Mahogany Back/sides.
Very cool looking…and very comfortable for players of all sizes.

I started With an Ibanez Acustic Guitar, there good starting guitars with a lower price but still good quality.Answer by Kato
Never, never buy a guitar without playing it first, Also realize that you have to generally spend more on an acoustic to get a good playing one compared to electric. If you skimp your fingers will pay the price in a very painful way. www.musiciansfriend.com is a great place to start looking. Sort by the price range you can afford and then look at the customer ratings and read the customer reviews. Very helpful. I would still buy from a local store, but this site is great for research.
