Most teachers that I know love apples. I would suggest a shine red porcelain apple.
I would say a collection of funny/inspiring quotes, maybe in a coffee cup or a cute/nice small box. These can be on blank business cards, notecards, whatever…teaching feels like “being in the trenches” at times, and having something encouraging to look at can help them through the tough moments.
It doesn’t have to be anything big or elaborate – but something that shows that you care and that you understand their day is something really special. Hope that helps!
Answer by Melissa AYou can buy small chalkboards at craft stores. (I have even seen them at Walmart.) They should only cost you a couple of $ a piece at most. Then buy a white paint marker (to look like chalk!) and personalize them. You can write something like “Mrs. Smith’s Class”. You should be able to find small wooden cutouts, buttons, or ribbons with school themed shapes to glue on for embellishments!
Another idea: Buy small photo albums and cover them with school themed fabric. ( You can sometimes find them at the dollar store!) Be sure to put a frame on the front cover so it can serve as a desktop frame and album. Put a little note inside the frame to let them know to save pictures of the upcoming school year inside! Here are some websites with directions for fabric covered albums- most are for large albums so you may have to alter the dimensions, but you will get the idea!
