Wayne T: What are the pros and cons of giving a person a bible as a birthday present?

Well, maybe I need to tell the full story. I bought some bibles at a yard sale for 25 cents each. They were new bibles, but on their front covers, just below the word “Holy Bible”, there was an inscription that read “place your ad here”. So I was wondering if it would be okay to just paint over that inscription and still give these bibles as birthday gifts. What would you do?

If anyone did that I’d beat them up with the bible.Answer by GodOfMySelf
If I received a bible for my birthday I think I would cry. It’s even worse than an empty box… at least I can still use the box once I’m given it.

Answer by JeffI would do some serious research before giving that book to anyone! And I mean researching how that book came to be, who put it together and where and why. And what was going on in that region at that time, when the decision was made to put this book together. Most people believe this book is holy and important only because Mommy and Daddy said it was!
There are new books, for this day and age and if you want to really get someone excited about Life, Death, God and so forth, go and browse the new spiritual books in the New Age section of the book store. They are selling these books in the millions and for good reason. They make sense, Feel good inside and offer the best description yet of all things unseen that we have never known or been taught to this point, most of us that is.
