Stewy J: fOOTBALL!??????
I play highschool football and take some pretty big hits to the head and wanted to know how much damage it does. Im a middle linebacker for my highschool football team and have yet to meet another player like me. i always go full speed head to head. i have had some pretty big collisions and i have had neck problems for over a year now because of it…. i dont want to damage brain cells i cant get back so i wanna know if its a serious problem or if im just paranoid. i only have a year left then college football if i decide but i may just stop if it will permanetely damage me
well i know proper mechanics but to be a starter anywhere you have to impress the caoshes and be very explosive. ecspecially at my school which is the biggest class in the state. they encourage my hitting but im not going to risk my health in the future to impress my coachs

I think that you should go see a doctor, there could be a problem if your neck is still hurting you after a year.Answer by Anthony_86
dude you lead with the forehead but you use your hips to hit with your weight. Jesus, coaches dont teach kids mechanics these days. Just be carefull, the last thing you want is neck arthritis in the future.Answer by Miss Lou Lou
I don’t think that you could damage your brain cells from impact. Drugs, alcohol, and smoking does that. However, impact can cause concussions. They are kind of like when your brain sloshes around in your skull. It can result in nerve damage, tearing of the blood vessells, and bruises on the brain. And too many concussions could result in permanent damage and seizures.
Symptoms ( a few of them)
~dizziness or lightheaded
~blurred vision or speech
~confused
~memory loss
~ difficulty with balancing
~feeling very tired
If you think you have had a concussion you need to go see a doctor. If your neck hurts I suggest you go see a chiropractor. Alot of people are afraid of them, but they really can do wonders. They don’t hurt the least little bit, and you feel so much better. If the chiropractor doesn’t work, then I sugest you go see the doctor then.
Answer by FALCONWANTSUTHIS IS NO JOKE WHAT SO EVER AND YOU SHOULD BE CONCERNED AND GO GET CHECKED OUT IMMEDIATELY. BELIEVE ME I’M GOING THROUGH THE EFFECTS OF MULTIPLE CONCUSSIONS. I PLAYED SPORTS MY ENTIRE LIFE HAD CONCUSSIONS BEGINNING IN MY EARLY TEENS. THE LAST ONE I RECEIVED WAS ABOUT A TEAR AND A HALF AGO IN A CAR ACCIDENT. I NOW HAVE DEVELOPED POST TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY SYNDROME. I HAVE SEIZURES THAT ARE UNCONTROLLABLE BY ALL MEDICATIONS THEY HAVE TRIED. MY SYMPTOMS INCLUDE SENSITIVITY TO LIGHT, FLASHING STREAMERS OF LIGHT, NUMBNESS IN EXTREMITIES, MEMORY LOSS AND CONVULSIONS. SOUND LOVELY HUGH. I’M 37 YEARS OLD AND MY FUTURE IS UNCERTAIN IF ANYTHING CAN BE DONE BECAUSE OF THE SERIOUS HEAD TRAUMA THAT I’VE SUFFERED. I SUGGEST YOU GET THIS LOOKED AT SO YOU DON’T BECOME A STATISTIC LIKE MYSELF. IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE A HEAD INJURY GET IT CHECKED OUT IMMEDIATELY. GOOD LUCK.
