me: First tattoo advice….?
I want to get my first tattoo. I’m planning on getting a Fleur de Lis that’s about 2 inches high and wide. I have a few questions for experienced tattooers.
1. Where should I get it that will be the least painful? I was thinking the front/top of my thigh (just below my underwear line) because I don’t get stretch marks in that area and it’s not likely to get distorted later. Is that a low pain area? Any other location suggestions?
2. Coloring – should I get it greyscale where all the lines are black and they use black for shading too or should I get a color? What colors fade the most?
3. Price – any idea on how much a tattoo of that size (2 in * 2 in) will cost me in a typical tattoo shop?
Thanks!
Also, I want it to be easily hidden. I’m going to be a practicing lawyer soon, and I need it to be hidden no matter what I wear to work or dinner with clients. (Skirts, short sleeve/sleeveless shirts)
Lastly, the design does mean something to me. I’m a Hurricane Katrina victim and I love my home city of New Orleans. I’m getting this for me because the Hurricane may have messed up things temporarily, but so many wonderful things have happened to me because of my displacement and I would have never made it this far had the hurricane not forced me to get out and see new places and meet new people. Anyway, that’s the story behind my Fleur-De-Lis

Don’t get one. They’re hideous.
You should get it on you arm. I hear that thats the least painful.
Coloring would make ppl pay more attention to you tattoo. But its really up to you.
I dont know how much it would cost.Answer by urguy71
on the lower part of leg is less painful and less sensitive bright colors fade the fastest but improved in the years depending on details but it will cost between 35.00 – 75.00 and also depending on the artistAnswer by nicole
1( i think you should get it there…or near you stomach becuase it has more skin and less bone so it wont hurt as much
2) i think you should get black and white and little touches of color…but it depends on what yoiu are getting
3) and i think you should get a bigger oneif you are going to get it on the uppper of lower thigh area.
and if you do get one…just rmemebr to make sure it is somthing that means alot to you …or that is important, becuase you should always love you tatoos…and if you get one you like now…but you wont like later would just suck
:]

Hello! Congrats on your new tat(when it comes). In my experience I’ve found that everyone’s pain tolerance is different….getting a tattoo just below my panty line would give me pain, but on the other hand may not be painful for you. If your worried about the pain then I suggest not getting one, because they’re all gonna sting a bit. As far as coloring goes, you need to choose a color you’ll be happy with & not just base it off of how much more it fades than the others. Pricing varies from state to state, parlor to parlor, and they all have their house prices. So my advice is look around in your area….talk to the tattoo artists themselves & let them help you. Good luck!Answer by -MuSiKmAnIaC-
i dont know much about them but i do know that the thigh area you want to get it on? upper thigh right under the panty line right? well that can be tender..it wont hurt as much ad under the arm or the inner-thigh but it’s still going to be tender. i think that look wise it would look good on the side of your thigh. or kinda side front.
colors-as for the colors..getting it actually colored in colors will cost more. some places do it for the size you get it and how much the use others charge by the time spent. just w/e you think will look best and how much you’re willing to spend. the Black and white will cost less tho. prolly by a lil less.
i think it’s a great idea as long as the tattoo means something to you and it would look great! the price varies.
sorry i dont know much about this stuff but i know some becuz my sis got a tattoo not too long ago.
Answer by JennyYou should get it on your lower back , therefore no one would see it unless you wear revealing outfits and your place of choice is also a good choice. It’s also painless there, well it was to me. I think you should just get it in black. The price really depends on the shop that you go to.
