manyprofileslater: Is it possible that God is a fastfood/band-aid type thinking for complex world?
In a world where people wants McDonalds, fastfood, pop a pill, band aid type solutions – God seems to fit the bill?
So when people want a fastfood solution, instead of a genuine solution that is usually much more complex, people would appeal to God for a quick fix?

Maybe. Remember though that concepts of God have been around since humans have been around. The ancient Egyptians had concepts of Gods, for example.
In the time of the Egyptians fast food didn’t exactly exist. I actually take the approach that people use God to explain what they can’t explain. Perhaps if there WAS a more complex solution people would believe it, but most people don’t see an answer in any solution but God. You may say evolution or the Big Bang are complex solutions, but lots of people don’t accept that because they need to go back to the very beginning. (ex. what caused the Big Bang?)
Answer by saraI think it’s a complex answer for a complex world; but I also think that it’s the incorrect answer.Answer by Darren Le
uhh… yea. You’re a peasant living during the 8th century. Life sucks. You want to believe in something better. The asshole noble goes to hell and you go to heaven. but that’s just the thing. Conditions of life are improving. Much of the youth in the US nowadays may be brought up in a religion, but they dont really follow it. A whole generation of young, fat (rofl), atheists…Answer by Nic
This makes no sense. I know of nothing more complex than religion, especially Christianity. Where are you getting such ideas?Answer by shah
God is God he is not human that will think like us. He is free from all worries. when a human makes a tape recorder and want to know the problems of tape recorder human will not make himself a tape recorder because he knew what he made and what its problems.
