Snape+Malfoy4ever: Experienced Tattooers?
Don’t even try to talk me outta it. Please. It’s legal where I live, the artist is certified and I’m sure. Thought abt it for years and am a straight A student.
Ok so I’m a minor, more than that I’m 13. I’m a cutter and wax and the pain of both is nothing to me. I can sorta numb them out. I can also focus and distract myself easily. I’m a getting a small tattoo (just the word perfection) below my collarbone, starting at the swell of my breast. So it’s fatty tissue, but not on any bones – although it is relatively closeby. It’s not close to the nipple at all. I’ll have a friend with me. So my question is, on a scale of 1 to 10, how much will it hurt? Please elaborate and any tips will be soooo appreciated. 🙂

Here’s my best advice:
I’m 19 and I’ve wanted tattoos for YEARS. And my parents tried to talk me out of them (so I get where you’re coming from.) Hear me out for a minute. I know that you really want a tattoo and I completely understand that but it is really, really, really important that in 5+ years you’ll still find meaning in it, in 10+… Also, if you still decide that you want to go through with it, please, please, please check out the artist that you’re going to. Tattoo cover-ups aren’t always a fix for a bad tattoo. To continue my rant (sorry about this, hang in there!) I’m fortunate to be going into a field where visible tattoos are fine. You want to be able to cover up your tattoos.
As for the pain, it varies. The closest thing that I’ve found to what a tattoo actually feels like is if you put an electric toothbrush on your skin (the vibrations are very prominent) and if you have a bad sunburn and scratch it. Depending on where you get it (ribs probably are a 10) my tattoos both ranged from a mildly annoying 3 to a 7 when the skin had to be pulled onto the bone to to shading.
The one thing that I wish that I would have known before I got my first tattoo is that it actually hurts more AFTERWARDS. The muscles tighten and cramp around your tattoo. Sometimes the icing it doesn’t help either.
Overall, I personally think you should wait until you turn 18, but I understand if you can’t wait. My one suggestion is to get it in a place that you can hide it easily.
Good Luck!
