And some people aren’t really “Christian” just because they believe in God.

There are 2 types of Christians – those who have been brought up Christian or those who merely go to church on a Sunday but have not had a personal encounter with Jesus Christ and do not KNOW God. These give Christianity a bad name because they call themselves Christians but do not serve the Lord. Then there are those of us who are born again Christians and who the Lord slowly changes and delivers and begins to turn us into what He wants us to be – an image of Himself.

There are many, many people who have been brought up very very badly in God’s name and they do not know God. If they did, they would not do the terrible things they do.

Please understand the difference. Born again Christians are NOT religious. Christians who do not know the Lord ARE religious. God detests religion because He wants us to have a personal relationship with Him.

The vast majority of the (American) people in all of those categories you mentioned are in fact believers, not atheists, and most of them are in fact Christians.

It’s not fair on everyone else. I think that christians can live just like everybody else does without walking around with a carrot up their butt. Yeah, there are alot of really nice ‘atheists’ out there and it’s a shame that christians go around telling everyone that they’re going to hell and forcing their beliefs on them.

I think that alot of people enter christianity with a false belief that ‘with a wave of a wand’ God will take all the crap out of their lives. Yes, I have seen quite a few christians doing alot of what you have stated above lol it sucks because they give other christians a bad name. Most of these people, in my opinion, haven’t even done their homework.

They build a fortress around themselves and any new idea or concept that comes their way regarding the bible, they’ll turn around and start breaking out in curses saying it’s blasphemy etc lol. Some christians just become so narrow-minded and because they haven’t done their homework, it makes all the other christians look ignorant and retarded.
