AcePhoenix: Does the university of your undergrad make a difference to your medical school application?
I am in the Nanotechnology Engineering program at the University of Waterloo, which is the best engineering program at the best engineering institution in Canada.
I am planning to take some of my pre-med courses like Biology and Immunology at my University. Would it make a difference if my university is not that well known for undergraduate studies in sciences? Or does my MCAT score compensate for the quality of my university?

The university does not matter. It’s like you’ve imagined, the MCAT compensates (or tells) for it all.
The simple truth is that your high school didn’t care what elementary school you went to. Your college didn’t care about your high school. Your medical school won’t care about your college and your residency program won’t care which medical school you attended. And the only thing the people in the medical community want to know is where you did your residency because everyone in medicine knows that all of the medical schools teach the same thing and are comparable in the quality of education.
