Desiree: Does the Santa scenario prepare children born to Christians for the belief system they will have to endure?
Santa scenario: good children get presents, bad children get lumps of coal.
Christian scenario: good adults go to heaven, bad adults go to hell.
See the similarities? You know, the Santa scenario is like a warm up for Christianity; a simple set of morals that a child can easily understand and when they grow up, this childlike state of mind stays with them and they think of themselves as good people and everyone not like them as bad people. And you also see how the Santa scenario is most prevalent in countries under the shadow of Christian organized religions?

Answer by NickJesus = Santa Claus for adults.Answer by Losasha
so Santa Claus is a task to “endure–?” perhaps your mother would like to be informed of that—-I’m sure she could have spent her money on PLENTY OF OTHER THINGS than your presents—and Christianity is not a lie—seek Jesus before it’s too late–Answer by Ftwasher
Desiree, you should give Christ your anger and pain, whatever hurt you it can be healed, God wants you to know real love and know it forever, he is your knight in shining armor, and you are his princessAnswer by Selena Forever
For a true christian, they wouldn’t teach SANTA to their children. What’s the difference? God is not man made, Santa is man made. Period.Answer by Skeptic
Interesting. I wish my parents saw it that way. There was no mention of Santa in my house because my parents saw Santa as Satan’s way of taking the world’s attention from the birth day of their Lord and Savior.Answer by Jesus Fish
au contraire. i was never taught “Santa”. i was taught that there was a st. nick.Answer by Zee-ster
Santa, as we know him today, is nothing more than the smiling face of mad consumerism masquerading as something grand. In other words, Santa is corporate and Jesus was something else altogether.Answer by RETURN OF THE FIST (EX L-5 T/C)
oh lawlz the link by first answer is good, but yeah it is a very common basis for all religion.Answer by Shae
First of all there is no “good” or “bad” as entry to heaven. No matter how good you are it doesn’t mean you’ll go to heaven, it is about your faith. Fair enough you can believe in God and be a “good” person but that doesn’t mean you will go to heaven. Even Satan believes in God.
And No originally it wasn’t discriminated good children get presents bad done. St Nicholas was a christian who celebrated by sharing what he had with everyone. The Good and bad child is just a way parents have made to make them behave coming up to christmas.Answer by pencilnbrush
i couldnt agree with you more! its a shame to control people with a another figure as a child.. then do a swtich when they get old enough. but by that time they are completely use to believeing in something they cant see that jesus is and easy thing to swallow.
biggest grip i have is that the christians will complain that “what the reason for the season?” …when they are the ones that made him up in the first place. so they took their own holiday and messed it all up with money as well.
and then of course you have the people getting trampled to death while christmas shopping…..and the people went for the deals…. good christians….left the man to die as they ran through the stores to save money…. for their holidayAnswer by answer man
No.
Children like you amuse me when you try to express opinions regarding things which are way over your head.
Get an education, mature, gain wisdom, gain humility (alot of that), then come back to us.Answer by Queen Kira
No; “Santa” is a “works-based” religion (good children, bad children). True Christianity is faith-based. (ALL are bad, but they can be saved if they believe in Christ).Answer by t j

You’ve been misled. You’re not a bad person, just misled.Christianity isn’t about intolerance and persecuting people. It’s about knowing the truth and living it. And hurting for those who don’t… because they’ve been horribly misled. What’s so wrong with teaching a child to be selfless and think of others first? Generosity? A good question to you atheists might be, how did all of this get here? The planets, seasons etc. being in perfect rotation by accident is like throwing up 100 decks of cards into the air and having them fall perfectly into suits like a game of solitaire. I don’t have the faith to be an atheist.Answer by vanessa
yes the santa scenario prepared me when i realised there was no god or no heaven.Answer by Lucy
When I put together how the idea of getting coal scared me to tears and trauma as a child (even though now I proudly own a bit; it’s rather cool), and how when family friends told me at FIVE YEARS I would be in pain in hell forever without my mommy or daddy if I didn’t love Jesus, they scared me into trying to be Xian for awhile— it seemed eerily similar.
Glad I’m not the only one who thinks so.
Answer by MishMashIf that were entirely true, they should also be prepared to realize that God is not real, just as they realized Santa isn’t. (I’m not saying God isn’t real, I have no idea one way or another, I’m just saying…..)Answer by apathatic c
I think that is a good point…someone said htat they were taught saint nick.
That is not a bad idea…equate santa claus to the noid from pizza hut, or daffy duck etc. That woudl be very interesting in kindegarten adn preschool for a kid to tell all his classmates y’all are all idiots…there is no santa..your parents are lying and deceiving you. But on the flip side, the longer you pretend to believe, the longer they will give you more stuff.
I dont beleive in god at all, and today’s christmas has nothing to do with Jesus (christmas never did, and anyone who beleives it as an actual event has obviously not watched any fact based show explaining how christmas came about), BUT my best memories are christmas morning with parents and family and presents…why take that away from any kid? Life tends to suck, and the later a kid comes to realize that, the better. Long live santa and god…let’s leave it to those too young or stupid to realize its all a lie.
Answer by Pastor Art (((SFECU)))I did not teach my children to believe in Santa.
I taught that Christmas is a birthday party for Jesus.
Answer by IshVarLanI am a Christian, and was NEVER, I repeat NEVER taught about the existence of Santa Claus, nor the idea of Hellfire.
