♥Mommy to 6 amazing children♥: Does sleeping with your hair in a pony really help it grow?
I heard a while ago that Hilary Duff puts her hair in a pony-tail before going to bed, because it makes it grow faster.
I started doing it a little bit ago and I think I’m seeing results, but my husband just laughs and thinks I’m crazy! Is it because I’m looking so hard and believing it works that I am fooling myself into thinking it’s working? Or has anyone else tried this and had results?
Thanks!

Don’t do that! sleeping with your hair in a pony tail just puts more tension on your hair and will most likely make it fall out. it also depends on how you sleep. if you sleep on your back, Like a corpse, it will make your hair fall out. if you sleep on your side it only puts tension on one side. sleeping on your stomach would probably be okay though.
no, thats a myth. it actually damages the hair more.Answer by Maria.
I doubt it.
Putting your hair up in a ponytail before going to bed damages your hair, so I wouldn’t try it.Answer by ♥bre♥
Don’t do it. It’s a myth. All the tension can lead to hair loss and hair breakage. The best way to protect your hair when sleeping is to wear a satin head cap thing. But if you don’t want to do that, just leave it down 🙂Answer by MaryK
heck no! anytime you wear your hair in a band will put tension on the hair at the point where the hair tie is. after a while the hair in this specific area will start breaking off. girls who wear a pony every day and in the same spot will have a ton of breakage especially if they pull it tight. if you must wear a pony change the location as often as possible and also don’t pull hair too tight, and don’t wrap the band too tight, one day wear it mid way by you occipital bone, another day wear a low pony, another day a side, etc… hope this helps and is informative!
