MysticalMinds: Does it look bad to have a fastfood business listed on your resume?
I have worked over 16 years in retail management type of work, but nearly a year ago my position was eliminated and I have been off and on employed but out of desperation I have started applying at fast food businesses (even though none of them are actually hiring in my town). My fear is after reading a newspaper article about how picky businesses are being, does it look worse to have a year period of no work or have a fast food, burger flipper, listed.

Employers know how bad the economy is. Everyone can respect someone who works for a living, even if it means having to do menial work.
luck!
Answer by JI think they would respect you since it shows that you have no shame and do what it takes, than to be a bum. I would put it! You have perserverence on your side, as well as pity/compassion/admiration from the interviewers. I admire reading what you wrote and probably made my day.
