Doug: Does anyone know of a good children sponsorship program that is Christian based?
My wife and I are looking for a charity to help with, we are wanting to sponsor a child, but unfortunately due to all the scams there are, we were wondering if anyone had good suggestions and warnings also. We were looking for children in the U.S. preferably but child if fine with us.

One fo the best places to help with and they do a lot of good and that is St.Judes hospital…….Danny Thomas was the founder of this org,and now his daughter is taking over since his death.You could contact St.Judes hospital and i am sure they could direct you.They help with a lot of cancer children,and most everything you give goes directly to the hospital to help the children.Another one is Feed The children foundation………………….Good luck

The only one that I know is legit and all the money really goes toward the needy is Oprah’s Angel Network. She’s diligent about what gets to the actual receipients. The so called “chistian” charites are usually the most corrupt. There was an entire 20/20 (or Dateline? that was devoted to their corruption) Go figure.

I have found Mission of Mercy to be a good Christian based child sponsorship program. There are no children in the US. However, you do get to pick the child that you would like to sponsor. You will receive reports how your child is doing, along with a photo from Mission of Mercy. In addition, you may write to your child (the letter is then translated and forwarded to the child), you will receive letters from the child (if they are old enough to write). You are also able to send your child small gifts.
