Andy: Does anyone else think that Congress gets way too many vacations and works way too few hours during the week?
They are almost never in the House or Senate chambers. Usually on the phone in their office asking people for campaign donations to get re-elected, and usually only come out into the chamber to vote or make a speech about their city / town’s championship YMCA softball team. Utter nonsense, considering their paychecks.

They also only work 4 day weeks, and work about 35 weeks per year, when you count all the vacations.

Yes….it’s a crock…..& great pensions also. This is a particularly useless bunch too!!!!!!!!!

You know whats even worse, we’re paying these people to do this. That’s the real kicker.

If you really looked into it, you’d see they work pretty hard. I know my US representative personally. He is away from his family during session, he literally sleeps in his office, and when he’s home on “vacation”, he’s generally doing fundraising all the time, managing his staff, and dealing with constituents.

Being in the chambers is a minimal part of the position.

I Know and Look at the Damage they do in that little time . I think they should get paid by the Hour and Minimum wage at that and take away their free Health Care , Let them Live like the People they are suppose to be representing .
