I need to scan a document in Microsoft Word and edit the document. I have a mac and Microsoft 2008. Thanks.

The magic word you’re looking for is “OCM”. It’s actually an acronym.. but OCM software will do this for you, though it’s not always 100% accurrate.

The result of the scan will be an image.
Thus, you have 3 options:
– use an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) program to transform the image to text (so you don’t have to re-type it in).
– edit the image with a image processing tool (like photoshop).
– embed the image in some other format, and add your own modification on “top” of it. For example include the image in Powerpoint and add text, arrows, etc. to it. That may work with Word too.
