Basically crime doesn’t pay. It’s a cliche, but true.
Yeh, sure you can think about stealing – every person i’m sure has thought about it before, but we know that it doesn’t “pay” in the end. You will get caught, and then depending on how much you’ve stolen (how much “harm” it has done) you will get larger and larger punishment.
So… say you have the “opportunity” to acquire some stolen goods. You are pretty poor and would love these items, so feel “motivated” to acquire them. Options:
1) You don’t take the goods and report the persons to the police – possible outcome? A) Nothing happens and they never knew it was you who bagged them in, B) They get picked up and possibly know it was you.
2) You don’t take the goods and say nothing to anyone – possible outcome? A) The persons keep hassling you and after a while realise you’re BETTER than petty crime, B) You actively avoid the persons suggesting you turn to crime.
3) You take the goods and revel in your “success”…. until A) you feel so empty inside, that you are worth nothing and are full of hatred for society and yourself, B) one day you are caught and end up in prison for not just petty crime, but longstanding warrants
Crime is not worth it. Let those egging you on go their way and instead go and get a good education/ apprecticeship and make a difference in the world LEGALLY.
