natalyastik: What are some creative ideas for a restaurant to have customers come back?
I need to get some creative “memorabilia” ideas – things that will physically remind someone of their time in the restaurant. The restaurant concept I have is Greek gods and goddesses and dining with the Gods. So match boxes and business cards are a given, but anyone have anything creative that they would like to get that would remind them or have ever experienced at a restaurant?
Note: this is an UPSCALE restaurant. Coupons won’t work.

Atmosphere. Create an atmosphere that is entertaining and feels like you are actually IN Greece. Wall Landscape Scenes. Pictures.Nostalgic pieces. Every piece of wall space can be utilized for “Something Interesting” to look at before, during, and after your meal. Dining out should be entertaining. -And Clean.

Food should be superb, so does the service and rate should reasonable…
Friendly attire and some extras such as memorabilia or portion of chef’s special when dining (may be a pot of tea, soup or side dish) would spread the message and make them return 🙂

You might consider what Subway used to do. They had a card that they would credit and after ten 12 inch sandwiches had been purchased you get a free 12 inch sandwich. Or if that is too messy, you might ask customers to sign the back of their receipts with phone number and put it in a bowl and give away one dinner for two every Thursday,
