▐▀▀✿▀▀▌ LIL BEAR ▐▄▄✿▄▄▌: How do you tell someone their cooking is horrible?
My husband’s step mom invites us over for dinner ALL THE TIME and she’s a horrible cook. We try to avoid it but we can’t avoid it every time. We were there last night and she made hamburger chunks with spaghetti noodles with NO sauce. No salt, no seasonings. It was greasy and gross! Last week she made pork roast with mint oil and undercooked it. It was nasty! She always makes a side of steamed mixed vegetables with no salt or butter. There’s never salt or pepper on the table so we can’t season the food ourselves. She makes us each a side salad which consists of lettuce, cucumbers and dressing. And sometimes she heats up rolls in the oven but always forgets about them and burns them. We’ve tried cooking for her and she eats our food but never says anything. And while were eating her food she’s constantly going “Mmmm…I’ve been waiting to try this recipe.” OMG that was a recipe?! Where is she finding this crap? Anyways, how can we finally tell her that we dislike her food without being rude? She’s so sweet to us.
Thanks in advance!

You could just tell her that the food that she has been making for you hasn’t been so great. Then you could suggest for her to order take out next time because you still enjoy her company just not the food.
the answer is you don’t tell her. if you do it will just hurt her feeling . instead try offering to bring something(to help out) try talking to her about your favorite recipes one you tried and worked or try asking her to pick out recipes together and ask if you help her cook the dinnersAnswer by Dusk
be honest. tell her to take cooking classes or else.Answer by ™
That’s such a tough call! I think it would be so much easier to tell her if she were a dragon! Since she’s so sweet to you, it makes the ballgame a lot harder!
If it were me, I would just grin & bear it. Telling her would only hurt her feelings and create an unpleasant environment down the line.
I see nothing wrong with asking for seasonings, condiments, etc. at your next, er, meal. We all have different palates and some prefer more ‘spice’ than others.
Good Luck! ♥
