Is it possible to convert music in itunes to a lower quality when you put the music on your ipod?
The music in my itunes library is in high quality, but i would like to convert it to a lower quality on my ipod so i can get more music on it.
Is this possible with itunes or do I need to use other software for this?
Thanks!

In iTunes go to Preferences>Advance>Importing>Settings>and you can use ‘custom’ to select from a varity of bit rates.
Hi, I can recommend you a good iPod Video Converter, it can convert many video formats to video format supported iPod, it also can edit a video, if you want to get a smaller video file, you can use the “Crop” function that adjust the size of the video.

Answer by BillyYes, you can use iTunes to convert your songs to a lower quality. Just click Edit > Preferences, and under the “General” tab click “Import Settings”. Under “settings”, select custom and choose the bitrate you want.
Now select the song(s) you want to convert, right click them, and select “create AAC version” or “create MP3 version” depending on what settings you chose. Then delete the original files once you’re sure you don’t need them anymore.
For music, I never use a bitrate lower than 128 kbps. But experiment and let your own ear be the judge.
