pix42: Why are Christianity, Judaism and Islam considered superior to all the other myths in history?
Is it all to do with politics and power at various times in the past 2000 years? I mean, every society needs to something to believe in, right? It hardly seems to matter if Christianity, Judaism or Islam are right or wrong just so long as they serve to control the plebs, right?

The number of followers.
You will notice that these religions don’t even try to hide the belief that might is right – as long as it is theirs.

Superiority means nothing since all have truth mixed with lies. Myth, I don’t think so. Myth is Santa Claus but so many parents teach their kids about a big red man that brings gifts. My beliefs don’t control me but I do live by a moral standard.Answer by BrokenheartedbyChocolateGoddess
Religion in its purest form, is reaching out in love to others. Since the basic notion of good verses evil is inherent in all of us, what is wrong with having a set of values universal to all beliefs. That is why these three, which all stem from belief in one true omniscient being, or “Mono-theism” and are centuries old, exist. Just as laws, which were written centuries ago, forming the United States, still exist.
As to the differing degrees of what people perceive as “TRUTH”, I add this thought. Judaism is an historic chronicle of the people called jew or Isrealite. Abraham, a man whom history shows did exist,is considered the Father of their faith, and nation. He believed in One God. His life is a testimony of that. The Islamic faith stems from his son, who was born to his maid-servant Hagar. It is also why we still have unrest in that region of the world. Cousins fighting over whose right. The Islamics believe Abrahams son Ishmael was who Abraham was directed to sacrifice. Jews believe because he was of Abrahams marriage, that Isaac was the rightful first born, and whom he was directed to sacrifice to prove his faith to God.
The Mount top where Abraham erected an altar for such, is the same spot the domed temple is in Jerusalem, currently occupied by Muslims. The word Isreal literally means “Prince of God”
As to Christianity, I ask you to consider this; we call the era we live in A.D. (2008 A.D>) And prior to that, B.C. Do you know what the A.D. and B.C. stand for? B.C. stands for before Christ, referring to Jesus of Nazareth. A.D. is a Latin term which means “Day of the Lord” So God, whether you believe in him or not, exists in all mens hearts, through the belief systems we recognize, and the pure unselfish acts done contrary to the dark, harmful ways many men live by.
What is the source for your assertion/question?
A general answer to your question may be that in Judaism and Christianity there are notions of justice and truth, and the inalienable dignity and value of human life in its God given diversity.
Islam otoh seems to be somewhat bigoted against these notions.
And, compared to the law of the jungle, the virtues promoted in these myths allow for more peaceful and properous societies, and for more of God’s children to live a good life.
Answer by josh Lto let you know Judaism and Islam is a lie and christianity is true. There is evidence that God existed look in the Bible and study the facts. Evolution is not mentioned in the Bible but the teaching of it is just pure wrong.Answer by stone
those religions are the most recent compared to polytheism.
there is only religion, as time passes the religion becomes more complete.
since the beginning of time God sends representatives to spread the message of belief and so over time you begin to see the evolution of religion.
islam is the last religion and therefore is the most complete religion.
i’m a recent convert. and if you study history well enough you’ll see the truth.
Answer by Leah BThey are “superior” NOW… 5000 years ago it would have been ludicrous to believe in anything other than the Greek or Roman gods (depending on where one lived). Today, these three religions dominate most of the world. 5000 years from now, it might be something else, or nothing else.Answer by Light
