mizkex: What is something about Chinese entertainment that is significant to it’s history?
I guess that it always wasn’t censored but anything important about Chinese entertainment that is important to it’s history. It’s a project for school. Also, if you know links about current Chinese entertainment please send me some. Please answers one of the questions if you know a good answer, even if you don’t know both!

A couple of historically important forms of entertainment in China is Chinese Opera and puppetry. Originally, puppetry was done with shadow puppets and often the stories were told in song. I’m not too familiar on much of the history, but I’ll provide you some links with info. Opera has been a very popular form of entertainment for years, and continues to be. Where I live in Xi’an, China, you can walk through parks and hear old ladies practicing a form of Chinese opera on nice evenings. It’s very interesting. I tried to find some good samples of traditional Chinese opera, but it seems a little hard to come by.
