David S: Can your connections in LinkedIn be viewed by anonymous persons?
I would prefer that connections in linkedIn (a social network) are NOT viewable UNLESS they join my network. I don’t want to inadvertently give out information of friends, colleagues and associates to anonymous persons.

Yes. I have run across people’s information by accident upon multiple occasions. And I was not even in Linked in, I was Google’ing. I believe they have a neat idea. But there is no way that they could protect that information. None.
Kudos to you for asking that.
Answer by fjpoblamI just tried and, no, I can’t view anyone’s connections directly on the website. But I would trust K W above, as I am a paranoid.Answer by micfo.com
I remember there is an option there to make visible the connection or not, if you make it no, it will be not visible to others those you’re not connected.Answer by ccSteve
David,
By default, if you connect to {A, B, C, & D}, each of them can see that you connect to the others.
Everyone else on the system sees that you connect to 4 people but can not see who the connections are.
If you’d like, you can turn off the “see my connections” so that your direct connections no longer can see who you connect to (under account settings).
