vic21461: Can you text while flying on an airplain??
Were leaving to fly to Florida tomorrow with AA. (American Airlines) I’ve never been on a plane before so i don’t know what to expect… but do they allow texting? I’ve heard you had to turn your phone off whileflying out and landing. But i havent heard anyone say anything about while your actually flying. And also, i have an ear infection right now, so will my ear hurt when were leaving and landing?? It’s not that bad anymore.

You wont have reception. No texting allowed.Answer by BPJR
Your ear infection will probably hurt pretty bad because the air will not be able to escape, and most phones don’t get signal on planes, but if yours some how does, then you should, but just ask the stewardess to be sure.Answer by VoLz JuNkIE =]]

Use of cell phones is not allowed during flight per Federal Communication Commission rules.
Your ear will definitely hurt. Has your doctor oked your flight?
Chew gum and swallow hard to equalize pressure, otherwise you will be wanting to cry like the babies on the plane that don’t know what is happening but it hurts like crazy!

Your ear will probably hurt. Check with your doctor.
You may absolutely NOT operate any electronic device that sends or received signals. Period. That’s federal law. In other words: No texting or calling at any time during the flight.
You must turn off all wi-fi, bluetooth, and cell transmit/receive functions while in flight.
Laptops, iPods, and such can be used in flight when the flight crews announce it is ok to do so, and they will tell you before landing when to turn them off. As long as the previous restrictions are observed.
Answer by athleticgirl23Chew gum that will really help with the ear thing. Also texting isn’t allowed during flying, but you can turn it back on during the flight if you want to.Answer by duh its lisaa♥
they dont say you cant, but you most likely wont get any reception from the plane while flying..but you can surely try toAnswer by ciaobella
All portable electronics must be turned off once the cabin door is closed. The only items you can use onboard (above 10,000ft) are ones that don’t transmit a signal. So no cell phones, AM/FM radios, walkie-talkies, etc. The likelyhood of a signal affecting the plane’s electronics is small, but would you really want to risk it?
You can turn your cell phone on if it has a game or airplane mode, otherwise it has to be off until you land. If you tried to turn it on and use it, what would probably happen is: 1) A flight attendant would ask you to kindly turn it off and put it away… not so kindly if you ignore him/her. 2) It’s very difficult to get a signal at such a high altitude. Your phone would use up all it’s battery power searching.

For the texting; I’m pretty sure someone explained that you can’t.
For the ear; I think you should really get the doctor’s okay before going, and I suggest holding your nose and mouth then blowing. It should (hopefully) pop your ears back with out hurting.
