Rusty C: Can my wife and I still file our taxes jointly if we pay state taxes in different states?
I am in the Army, stationed in Colorado. I use our home of record (Maine) for state tax deductions from my paycheck. My wife works in the local area outside of the base, and has Colorado taxes deducted from her paycheck. Can we still file jointly?

Absolutely. Military personnel typically file in their state of residence. Income earned out of state is combined on the federal return but you pay taxes to each state under their separate rules. I do not know the specifics for your state but it mayn likely be that you will file as a resident of Maine and get a credit for the taxes you paid to Colorado.
Hope this helps. Good luck to you and thank you for your service.
