crazychick3n17: What are the best cameras for photography?
What camera, or specifications, or brand that is best for photography beginners? Price between $ 100-300.
I really want to get into photography and i have been taking mediocre pictures for a few years now. My camera now is only 6 mega pixels. At the moment i am only using the camera to learn angles. Now i would like to get a higher resolution camera to really start off. What are some that you know of that are cheap enough for my budget, and good for beginners?

That is NOT a lot of money. Your choices are very limited

I have news for you.
Good news: Better camera will NOT make you better images.
Bad news: better photographer will take better images.
Translation: You need to improve your photographic skills.
News Flash: I use 6 mp digital camera for weddings. The camera is NOT important as much as the photographer.

Many of the canon G series are excellent camera to experiment and learn. Some of the S series are also excellent. I’ve owned 3 G series and 1 S series. They are NOT cheap. So buy it used from KEH.com or from Ebay. I got mine (Canons S3) from ebay for $ 200 when it was going for $ 400 new).

I also use Nikon DSLR. They are way more expensive than what you want to spend (even with the lens). But you might find a deal in KEH.com in used dept.
Good luck…

10.0 Megapixels
$ 279.95Answer by An G
You can only go so far with a point and shoot camera. SLR is the best way to go. You can get a Nikon d40 for just under 500$ . However, if it’s more than what you can afford, the next best way to go would be to buy used. There are lots out there. Research and see if you can find a good one. Megapixel will also only take you so far. It’s about technique, lighting and know what to shoot and when. I’ve taken great pics with both my cameras, one is 10.5 MP and the other is 12.5 MP. In the end, It’s about what you do with that camera.
Good luck
Answer by MendozaTJI would recommend one of the Canon Digital Rebels but I think the cheaper one begins at $ 600.00 with stock lens and that should be good for years to come until you get to be better you can add lenses later on.
I forgot to mention that over 30,000 of my pictures were taken with a Canon Rebel XT 🙂Answer by electrosmack1
You might consider a 35mm SLR. There is no better way to learn the basics, if that’s what you want to do. KEH.com has many to choose from, as well as a large selection of lenses, so you might try there.Answer by Vinyl Tunes
If you are seriously looking into photography. The first lesson you need to learn is. Cameras don’t take good pictures, the photographer takes good pictures.
Don’t get all caught up in megapixels. You will not take any better photos with a 10 to 12 mp camera. The only way you will take better photos is to practice. I have seen people use the cheapest digital camera and take the most amazing pictures.
Best of luck
Answer by Colorful LFor your budget I would suggest Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28K
Full SLR-like manual operations including aperture, shutter, program and full manual modes with Advanced Scene modes
with premium 27mm wide-angle Leica lens with an 18x optical zoom, ideal for tight indoor shots and long-distance action photos. The 10.1-megapixel digital camera also features an enhanced Intelligent Auto Mode (iA), with the new AF (auto focus) Tracking function, making it easier for photographers at any level to shoot sharp, well-focused photos, even when the subject is moving — making it ideal for action shots.

Does your current camera have a tripod mount? If so, you’re next upgrade should be a tripod. If it’s a compact digital camera as opposed to an SLR you can get away with a cheap, lightweight tripod. I have the $ 20 Targus tripod that I’ve been very happy with.
No offense, but I doubt the problem with your current camera is that it has “only” six megapixels. If you want a really good answer, post some of your pictures and what you don’t like about them. Maybe you need a camera that has an aperture priority mode, or maybe your current camera really is obsolete.
If you really want to learn photography, get a camera with a manual mode.
