They get bigger than you think
That they are farm animals. You will need to be zoned to keep livestock in most places in order to keep one legally. They do need an area in your fenced yard in which to root and wallow, which will be totally destroyed. They mature to an average weight of 150 pounds, with many being larger. They will grow until 4-5 years of age. They can be litter trained, but their waste smells foul, and you’ll be constantly cleaning the box. Visit a pig farm first to make sure you can handle the smell- personally I think it is among the most offensive odors on earth. Hope you have understanding neighbors or none that live close- when they are upset, they squeal- loudly. They can be territorial, and may become aggressive to strangers as they mature. They are very smart and do need exercise and activities or they can be very destructive when bored. They tend to have weight issues. It’s important for their health to feed them a good quality diet (not commercial pig food- that’s designed to get pigs to grow fast and fat) and it’s important keep their weight at a healthy level by not overfeeding and providing lots of exercise.Answer by Zr
