this is JULY . YOU plant stuff in the spring…
what potato wagon did you fall off of
You dad has a wonderful veggie garden!
I love planter boxes. Unfortunately it is too late to plant seeds this year unless you live in south Florida. South Florida has three growing seasons year round.
Most of the stores have already put up their seed packets. You will need to wait until next March/April/May/June to buy flower seeds. Be sure to read the packets on the back and on the front before buying the packets. All the needed information is on the packets.
You will also need to know if you have sun or shade most of the day. You will need certain flowers for the sun. And certain flowers for the shade.
Go to a book store and buy a beginners gardening book. You need to know many things such as potting soils, compost, mulch, types of fertilizers. You will have all winter to read and learn. You’ll be so glad you did.
As for now, a few nurseries and gardening centers have plants already growing that you could plant for now. Most will die after the first frost. Walk through these store and see what they have to offer. Places such as WalMart and Lowes still have plants too.
Happy gardening to you.
Answer by Nerderella CIf it were me, I would put the tomato in one and the zucchini and pumpkin in the other, just for the space issues. With the tomato, but teh rest of your plants. The herbs and the strawberry can overwinter for next year (have it protected though if you live in the north where it gets cold.
Also, depending on your location, you are starting your garden rather late in the season and may have to protect your plants in the fall when it gets cooler.
