I think Buddhism, from its inception, was about finding one’s own path to enlightenment. Is it different in Hinduism?

Buddhism makes prescriptions for how someone should live if they want to reach enlightenment. It is not in any way about “finding your own path.”
Hinduism has far too many different sects to give a specific answer to the second part of your question.

It is very clear from its name ” Budhis and ism” it is also an “ism” of Budha, not following the true the teachings of Budha but just a kind of “ism”.
Same is with Hindu ans ism, that is Hinduism.

First of all there is only one path to enlightenment, that is the eight fold path. Buddhist concepts are very different from hindu concepts. Buddhist enlightenment is different from hindu enlightenment.
