Amanda.: Is it safe for my mom to bring her portable oxygen with her to a concert?
Me and my mom have been planning to go to the Taylor Swift concert on 11/11/11 for several months now as a mother/daughter thing. However, she was just released from the hospital today, and is on oxygen therapy. Oxygen is of course flammable, and Taylor Swift does use some firework displays during some songs. But would this be something of concern if we are not directly on the floor, and a little ways away from the stage? (Not all the way back, more of like the middle.)
Thanks.

Contrary to what people think, oxygen is not itself flammable, but helps things to burn. If you are not on the stage with Miss Swift, you will be fine.
That far away, should be fine, only cumbersome.Answer by Toyia

a little reality here..you should be more worried about your mom if she DOESN’T bring her O2 with her…& btw, if she is on O2, have you taken into consideration how much she would have to walk to get to her seat & then back out…situations like this take a lot of O2, & resolve in many shortness of breath episodes….did your mom ask her doc if she can even go to this concert…he!he!..sorry, couldn’t help, but asking as a dtr & making sure your mom is hearing docs orders…sorta like the roles are reversed…but honestly..this is not an easy escapade for your mom…even though she just LOVES Taylor Swift, her better bet is to stay home…for her own health…Answer by anacrostic
I have to ask–will people be smoking at this concert or possibly after the concert? If so, then your mom should definetly stay home. Sorry she’ll miss this opportunity but be happy she’ll stay alive.
