What are some good books in preparation for the SAT?

: What are some good books that would broaden my vocabulary in preparation for the SAT?
I already have the College Board SAT Prep book, (I don’t want any SAT Prep books), I just want some thought provoking books that have some good vocabulary words. My school has a good list of books they require students to read, but I want some more. Thanks!

I think any book that is just slightly above your reading level. For me, Jane Austen is it. I like the stories, but the books are sometimes so… well, elliptical, that its hard for me to get into them. But if you tell yourself to do it for a good SAT score, you will! Good luck!

P.S. You could try Shakespeare, too. I mean, what’s more English than the Bard himself?
