: Is Biology 20 AP Hard? & The Benefits Of English 10 AP?
Hi guys. Im starting highschool, going into Grade 10, and I was wondering what the benefits of English 10 AP were. I am not very good at English and Language Arts, I have no passion for it, and I dont really think its necessary if I wanna be a doctor when i grow up, is it?I could just take regular English right?
Also, I took Biology 20 AP, and I was doing some reading and a lot of people say its hard. I like science and all, but for grade 10 with 4 other AP courses, will it be manageable? Im from Canada by the way, please and thanks (:

Well AP is AP so I think even though I live in the states, it should be similar to you.
Sadly, we never had a grade 10 AP English class…but I did take AP Biology last year. Its definitely not a blow off class, thats for sure. For us, the class involved A LOT of memorization which I suck at, but I survived. I pulled off high Bs in the class both semesters (which was higher than I got in AP Chemistry.) Like I said, there are a lot of terms and such that you need to memorize so hopefully you have a decent memory. I was really afraid of the AP test, but I surprisingly pulled off a 5! 😀 The exam was easier than my class IMO.
I think if you are going to become a doctor, taking AP Bio would definitely benefit you (also, Latin would probs be better than an AP English course…)
Idk if you have had any other AP courses before, but the last 2 weeks before the AP exams WILL BE HELL. Its just study, study, study! If you can handle hell for 2 weeks then I bet you can survive 4 AP classes (at least in my school you would) as long as you have the smarts to be in those classes in the first place!
Good luck! 😀
