: Are Islam and Christianity two different religion or one religion in to different way?
I am confused. The basic philosophy of Islam and Christianity are almost same. Most of the people described in the Bible are considered as prophet in Islam. There is a entire chapter named mary(mother of jesus). I am confused.

Christianity is the realization of Judaism and the Old testament, and as such, while Christianity also holds to the New Testament, it also holds to the Jewish Old Testament unchanged.
Islam on the other hand is a later religion that is an aberration that arose out of a mix of Judaism, Christianity and paganism, and only holds to a self modified version of the Christian /Jewish Scriptures.
Thus whilst totally different in belief and out look and practice, there are some incidental similarities too!Answer by Val
No, they’re totaly different! Which doesnt mean bad… There are several points that even go against each other in both! Like in Christianity it is a sin to kill your self at any circumstances, while in Islam if you kill your self and other non islamic people you go to haven where 12(?) virgin girls will serve you…

Very good Question.
I like people who think and think much! I also like your religions summary. It helps. OK, Now. There are 2 groups of Religions: One group is Man made and the Others are Divine Revelation.
The Monotheistic Religions of today are Judaism, Christianity and Islam. They have received Divine Revelation from Same Source, God in Heaven. Now, Jews have been receiving Revelation from above since at least 6000 years. To days Jews still expecting a Messiah, the promised One. He came 2 thousand years ago and they rejected him (Jesus). Six hundred years after Jesus, Mohamed came to testify that all previous Messengers were from ONE GOD and ALL preached Islam, Monotheism, (believe in One God only). How ever Jews and Christens of today, reject each other, and the last message, that has been sent down through Gabriel, the same angel responsible to deliver the Message from God in Heaven. In spite of their rejection Last Message intended to come as completion to whole Revelation from the very first one. Every Revelation is , like a segment, some thing to be finely completed. So, today we have a book called, Bible. This Bible contains 73 books., a compilation gathered from what have been sent to Jews and Christens, time after time. This Book is full of controversies. Jews and Christi-ens plagiarised and corrupted Revelation.
If Jesus is God, will you explain this Bible verse?
“The Father is greater than I.” – John 14:28
“But in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” – Mark 7:7
“I do nothing of myself” – John 8:28
neither came I of myself, but he sent me. – John 8:42
“And behold one came and said to him, Good teacher, what good things shall I do that I may have eternal life? So he said, “Why do you call me good? No one is good but One, and that is God alone. But if you want to enter into eternal life, keep the commandments.” – Matthew 19:16-17
“Hear, O Israel; The Lord OUR God is one Lord, and you shall worship Him with all your strength and all your might and all your soul and all your heart.” – Mark 12:29
After all this that I have presented to you, lets see what is in the Final Testament , Final Revelation to Humakind. The Book called Qur’an, meaning,( Something to be read.) In this Book we read that All other revelations that came to Nobel Messengers are truth. And what THEY teached in their life time is Truth. We read that there is a Heaven and Hell. We read on the “Human Embryonic Development. ” We Read on Big Bang, “The Origin of the Universe. Let us see what Dr. Professor Alfred Kroner, Geiligist from Germany, say on this findings from Qur’an.
“THEN HE* TURNED TO THE HEAVEN WHEN IT WAS SMOKE…’ (Qur’an, 41:11)
“HAVE NOT THOSE WHO DISBELIEVED KNOWN THAT THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH WERE ONE CONNECTED ENTITY, THEN WE* SEPERATED THEM?…” (Qur’an, 21:30)
Dr. Alfred Kroner is one of the world’s renowned geologists. He is Professor of Geology and the Chairman of the Department of Geology at the Institute of Geosciences, Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz, Germany. He said: “Thinking where Muhammad came from… I think it is almost impossible that he could have known about things like the common origin of the universe, because scientists have only found out within the last few years, with very complicated and advanced technological methods, that this is the case.”

What have been reviled to Jesus that is Islam
and what has been revealed to Moses that is Islam and Abraham and isak, and Jacob and all the others and finely Mohamed; All what has been reviled to those Prophets and Messenger is Islam and is from One God. The final Messenger is Mohamed and Qur’an testify to those revelations. However, Most of those messages are lost, changed and corrupted except Qur’an which is protected by Mighty God until this day. So, because of the bible being interpolated and changed lot of thing people started misinterpret bible the way it suit them. Ever since then You will fined many Bibles in the world today are different Versions, not only translation, but different version, Some Bibles are 7 books les the the others. Like Catholics ics and Orthodox they don’t have same Bible.Qur’an came to rectify this and to give guidance to human kind until the Day Of Judgment.
Answer by Panait CThey are different, although they have same common grounds as they both come from judaism. The main difference is stated by the apostle Paul I think when he says that we believe in Christ that was crucified and died for us. “But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 15More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. 16For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. 17And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. 19If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.” Islam does not even believe Christ died, let alone resurrected. This is the central thesis of our religion, the death and resurrection of Christ. Without this , all is futile. And there are many essential things they see things different. They do not believe in the trinity and so they do not believe Jesus is God. They do not believe in demons , and hide them under the name of Djinn supposedly some being good. And there are many other differences.Answer by Pedestal 42
They arise out of the same root religion, (Judaism), but differ on key points so that one religion is not, now, merely a variant of the other.
One big issue concern texts: Christians take the bible as correct, and the Quran as a late and purely human work, while Muslims take the Bible as God-given but later corrupted, and the Quran as a perfect revelation. A basic incompatibility.
The second concerns the person, nature and role of Jesus of Nazareth.
In Islam, he is one of the prophets, a description which Christians take as mistaken and insulting since in Christian theology Jesus is God incarnate, God made flesh, and his sacrificial death (which the Quran says never took place) is then the literally crucial point in God’s plan to open the path of salvation ot humanity.
I am not Christian or Muslim.
Answer by CaesarThe three religions have certain similarities. They are considered inextricably linked to one another because of a ‘family likeness’ and a certain commonality in theology: all three are monotheistic, and conceive God to be a transcendent Creator-figure and the source of moral law. The sacred narratives of all three of these religions feature many of the same figures, histories and places in each, although they often present them with different roles, perspectives and meanings. At times and in various locations the different religions, and some of the branches within the same basic religion, have been in bitter conflict with each other to the extent of war and bloodshed. The branches, and some conflicts, remain in existence. You can guess by some of the answers how much love and forgive they share with their brothers… Why the same loving and forgiving deity allow this fight on his name is a hint that something is wrong…or unrealAnswer by Grateful Believer
May peace be on you.
No, they are not one religion but they have similarities.
Islam means submission to the will of God. It’s teaching is based on the last revelation of God, the Holy Qur’an and and examples of the Prophet Muhammad, on whom be peace. To accept Islam, you just have to testify that “there is no god except the One and Only true God and Muhammad, on whom be peace is the servant and last messenger of God.”
Islam honors Mary(pbuh), a righteous woman chosen by God to be the mother of Prophet Jesus, on whom be peace. Islam also honors Prophet Jesus(pbuh) but as a human being, chosen by God to be the messenger for Children of Israel. In Islamic belief, Old testament(Torah) was the revelation revealed by God to Prophet Moses(pbuh) and Gospel(Injeel) was revealed to Prophet Jesus(pbuh) but Islam only accepts the original revelations of God to them which is today already gone as the Bible has already so much versions, contradictions and the original hebrew copy was already gone.
Eventhough the original Bible has now changed, there are still remnants of the true teachings of Jesus(pbuh) in it. Like oneness of God and you will never find a single verse which Jesus, himself said in the complete Bible that “i am god” or where he says “worship me”. Yet Christianity today claims that he was god or son of God.
You can visit the following sites to see the similarities between Islam and Chrstianity if you want and also i invite you to read the Holy Qur’an to have more knowledge about it and make you own choice if you want to follow and believe it or not.

Answer by Jess4rsakeChristianity and Islam are two entirely different beliefs. Both see Mohamed and Jesus as prophets, historically, but Christians see Jesus as God Himself with all power in Heaven and in earth, who arose from the dead and is still alive today. The King James bible and most standard bibles have 66 chapters in them. There is no chapter in the Christian bible entitled “Mary” or “mother of Jesus”. Catholics attribute deity to Mary but to most other Christians who are not Catholic, Mary was just an ordinary, virgin woman whom God chose to give human birth to Jesus so He could teach us the way to God and eternal life in Heaven. Try using a King James bible or the New International Version of the holy bible for better understanding of the true and inspired word of God. Muslims do not use the holy bible at all but the holy Quran instead.Answer by Christopher
They are two different religions. The Koran even says that Christians are misguided and hypocrites. The Koran tells muslims not to be friends with any unbeliever, Jew, or Christian or else “Allah” won’t be there for them anymore. Although there are some similarities between the Holy Bible and the Koran, they are two VERY different religions. The Koran even says the “Allah” doesn’t like unbelievers, Jews, or Christians until they become muslim, whereas, the Holy Bible says that GOD loves everyone, Christian and non-Christian alike, because we’re all His creations.Answer by Myotismon
Judaism and Christianity are religions from God (however in Islam, they are considered to be corrupted by people over time and have changed the beliefs of what God has sent) so God sent the final message of Islam with a book that remains unchanged.
So yes your assumption is correct – we all worship the same God, some of us in a distorted matter, but in the end, we are like cousins from the same family tree.
