lifeisnow_ornot: Are AP Exam scores counted toward college’s grade beside credit given ?
For example, if we took ap exam and got a 5 on Biology, does that mean college will put us a grade of A and credits given for Freshman Biology in transcript. And so on with 4 equivalent to B, 3 –> C, 2 –> D, 1–> E. Or they just put no grade ?

No, AP exams don’t contribute towards your college GPA. You get credit hours for the equivalent course, and that’s it. It’s basically like having the class waived, but they’ll give you credit hours towards your degree on top of waiving the class.
On AP exams, you can score up to a 5 (unless they’ve changed the scale since I took mine). Most schools only factor in AP exams at all if you score a 4 or a 5 (and a some only take 5s)… so if you score a 3 or lower, it really doesn’t matter. You’re not going to get anything for it either positive or negative.
Answer by Experiment103No, they simply give you credit hours for the course;
They won’t count it as a contributor for your GPA, it’ll be as though you never took the class, but you got the credit hours nonetheless
And either way: considering that you need a 3 to PASS the exam and that some colleges only take in 4’s and 5’s… you really shouldn’t be corncern 🙂
Answer by Helen W.You get the credit as a gen ed with no grade. But it’s still a great deal. Depending on your major, you can sometimes knock off an entire semester of college with AP credits.Answer by ckg143
No. most of the time you get the credit hours and it counts towards your degree, but it will not add into your gpa. For example, i took AP art history and got a 4. they gave me 3 credit hours and a 3.0 for that class on the gpa scale, but that credit is not added into my gpa. it has no affect on my grades or gpa, only my graduation requirements. (I go to winthrop. ask your specific school)
