1. 2x^-3
2. 2v^-2w^-3
3. x^2y^-3/z^-5
1) 2/x^3
2) 2/(v^2*w^3)
3) x^2*z^5 / y^3
The important thing to remember about negative exponents is that they mean to move the number or variable to the OTHER SIDE of the dividing line. Once it crosses over, the sign changes.
1. 2x^-3
= (2 x^-3 ) / 1
= 2 / x^3
2. 2v^-2w^-3
= 2(v^-2)(w^-3) / 1
= 2 / (v^2w^3)
3. x^2y^-3/z^-5
= x^2(y^-3) / (z^-5)
= x^2 / (y^3)(z^-5)
= (x^2)(z^5) / (y^3)
2x/3
2v-2w/3
x/2y-15/z
