sammayasmom: A good name for our kitten (repost, need more ideas)?
We have fostered a litter of kittens from the shelter. One has really bonded with my son so we will keep her.
We were thinking of name options and Moo-Shu (?) came up. Then, in our ever present desire to be different, we decided to research if there are any acceptable recipe names for cat based dishes that we could use as a name for her. All we have found are English names for recipes “cat soup” or “rotisserie cat” and we want an Asian name.
If anyone knows any Asian language, cat meat based recipes we would appreciate it.
The kitten is a 6 week old solid black female who loves her tummy rubbed.
DISCLAIMER:
We do not intend to cook or eat the kitten. This is only a name search. I am not trolling, legitimate answers please.
To those passionate animal lovers:
Yes she is fostered/adopted from a shelter, has her first shots, will be spayed and lives indoors.
OOO-KAAAYY, the first 4 people don’t know how to read.
I got better ideas from the afternoon crowd, you people are amazingly rude and paranoid.
Why isn’t it a problem if people name a dog “Oreo” they aren’t going to dunk him in milk and eat him.
STOOP
Moo-Shu is good and the kids can pronounce it. We will likely stick with it.

Answer by ☎ Rotary Dial ☎Ha Ha! What a clever and hilarious idea for a cat name!
I like naming pets after edibles. I have a cat named Twix, and he’s pretty edible!
I don’t know any names that quite meet your criteria and concept, but here are some ideas that are inspired by it:
Rama
Swimming Angel
Pad Thai
Soba
Lumpia
Zaru
Takoyaki
That’s a Korean recipe list that I found…no cat, but great names. My personal favorite is Chen Ya.
Yoora is one I find a lot, I’m not sure what it means. Gingko is an herb used a lot in East Asia, but it sounds rather masculine.
Answer by all ears 🙂that’s kind of ironic, you saved the cat and now you want to name it after a recipe? that’s just sick. and who on earth would even create a recipe that would involve cats. i am an extreme animal lover, and i think the idea of eating cats and the naming scheme you have come up with is just sickening.Answer by donnamaree

I think Moo-Shu is cute and funny…..but you are going kind of overboard on finding a cat food name that it makes you sound kind of scary- if you were to find some authentic asian name for a cat based food, most wont even know – so your joke is lost.Answer by MIZ IS AWESOME!
