Patrick: 2 Questions – “Is it okay to wear Khakis Pants to a Job Interview” and “Does it matter what I wear to apply?”?
When I mean by “Does it matter what I wear to apply for the job” like filling the job application and then if they call me in, I’ll get dressed for the Interview. For example I was wearing an Iron Maiden shirt and blue jeans to fill out an application for a gas station.
I’m a Khakis person. I’m not a fan of blue jean, but as for the Job Interview I don’t really want to wear dress pants to the interview either. Are Khakis okay? Oh yeah I’m 18 and still in high school so it’s not like I’m applying for a huge office building. Mainly for places like Home Depot, Office Depot, and other jobs that offer part time.
OK I now know it’s okay to wear Khakis what about the question “Does it matter what I wear to fill out an application like if the manager saw what I wore, would they not call me cause of it?

Yes, for a position at a gas station, wearing khakis to the interview is perfectly acceptable. I’ve worn khakis to every interview I’ve ever had and I’ve gotten a job offer each time, so either I make up for it during the interview or people consider them a step up from jeans (hint: khakis > jeans).
Khakis are the perfect attire if you’re applying for a job as a safari hunter.
If you’re applying for a job as a CEO of an international corporation, not so much.
My point is it depends what you’re applying for. Khakis are probably better than dress pants for the places you mentioned.
Your best bet is to go to these places and see what the employees are wearing. The closer you get to that, the more comfortable the interviewer will be.
