Hi, I just need some advice. For my degree Im moving down south and the uni didnt have enough acomodation even though I applied early so I ended up finding my own apartment and renting, anyway this was very expensive because it is an expensive area.

Ive just got a letter from student finance and they said that my full maintenence loan will come to £5,000 but working out my rent, this is not enough to cover rent, food and bills etc. Obviously I will get a job but even then it will not cover everything. Im just wondering if this is the maximum loan as we are not well off by an means so I dont understand why Im getting so little.

all i know is they take into account your parents income etc, and decide how much to give you each term of the year.
