Sean 🙂: Why do people kiss one another when the new year “kicks in?”?
i’ve been wondering about this…you know, when we all say “happy new year!” …and then we kiss one another. Why is that?

Kissing as the New Year begins is supposed to ensure that the person you kiss keeps sharing love with you the rest of the year. It’s part of the whole “whatever you do on January first influences what will happen all year long” superstition. You’re supposed to kiss someone that you love to bring you love and luck in the New Year.
