those are the people who are swindling your money from you when you buy and sell stock. they are submitting orders to buy and sell stocks to make cash.
Looks like a crazy job.
Answer by ChuckoPeople on the floor do the actual trading of the NYSE positions that investors are buying and selling. Some are trading their own positions (large investment firms), some others are running between phones and people holding stocks their customers want to buy, and buying them.
This is in comparison to the NASDAQ market, where everything is traded over a computer system.
