nola2k56: Which sport is harder to master and become really successful at: MMA or baseball?
In ur opinion, mainly for those who have experienced both, which sport is more difficult in terms of skillset out of the two sports? In addition, which would you say requires better hand eye coordination?

I would sat MMA is allot harder because to be proficient you have to develop all of your skills were as baseball you only play one postion
Define success. if you mean being a great pro then both are equally hard in different ways. MMA is without a doubt much harder on your body. I do not think I have a day anymore where i am not injured in at least some small way. Both sports take a lot of practice and conditioning to be great. Baseball probably requires more hand eye coordination. it is definitely harder to hit a small ball moving at 90mph as compared to a guys head, The wrestling side of MMA takes even less. In all honesty though It takes just as much work to master one or the other, you will just be working different things. I prefer MMA, more fun and has more practical uses than baseball.Answer by Jeremy
Both are hard to master. Baseball and MMA require a lot of training and natural born athletic gifts. Baseball you have to master hitting fastballs and off speed pitches, be able to field the ball at your defensive position and be able to run the bases. MMA requires you to be a great fighter not just standing up but also on the ground. There are many fighting styles and martial arts and a lot of fighters are very well trained in more than one discipline. Baseball requires better hand eye coordination because you have to swing a bat at a ball traveling 90 mph + also the off speed pitches and the movement of the ball. MMA requires some hand eye coordination as well because you have to time your punches and kicks to hit the target ex. head, body or legs.Answer by Lorenzo
hello,
well, both are difficult for different reasons. believe it or not, the difficulty does NOT stem from any inherent physicality.
on one hand, baseball is difficult because you must play on a team. and growing up in the sport, you never know who you will get. you have no control over the actions, abilities or decisions of your teammates.
on the other, mma is difficult because there is little in the way of organized infrastructure through which one may grow up in the sport. baseball is played by children all over. mma is not. so what typically happens is that mma players aren’t able to begin LEARNING until adulthood.
success in baseball is defined as a result of the combined efforts of the team. success in mma is based on individual efforts and performance.
as far as eye hand coordination….. both. good eye hand coordination is good eye hand coordination, no matter what you are doing. the question only becomes “what are you doing” with it. comparing “eye hand” of the two sports is an “apples and oranges” kind of thing. one is simply using the attribute to accomplish different things.
apologies if the answer seems a bit effusive, but there really isn’t a way to answer this directly.
thanks
Answer by Integrated Self Defense ServicesI believe baseball would be more difficult to master than MMA because it contains more elements for success than MMA. Where MMA relies on the individual for success, not only in self-discipline and motivation but also in social skills in securing good networking contacts for matches, baseball requires a self-master and development and then also requires a mastery of working as part of a team.
Since baseball, just by the above criteria, has more elements to master then it would be more difficult to master.
Answer by Tylerto be a master at MMA because it incorporates so many things. But to be the best in the world at, definitely baseball. Baseball much much more competitive than MMA.Answer by WereTurtle
Both require a great deal of time, dedication, and the appropriate mindset to succeed at a high level. Believe it or not, pro ball players work ever bit as hard as pro MMA fighters.
