Amy: Where can I find gift certificates for restaurants in europe?
Is there a website for this? I am thinking of the gift certificates they have in the states, the gift cards for restaurants. Thanks.

There is not a system that will work in all of Europe, like there is no system that will work in all of North America, do not forget that Europe is many countries.
In some countries there are systems, but the ones I have seen are more for allowing an employer to pay for his workers than for people to give a present.
There are some chains that have their own system of gift cards, again mostly limited to one country only and only the bigger chains will be useful unless you know which city the people want to use the ‘gift’.
As many, but not all, restaurants accept prepaid ‘credit cards’ it might be a solution to buy one of those, make your own cover for giving it, (calling it a ‘restaurant’ card) and explain that this is the nearest you can go.
If you do know where the people will be and which restaurant they want to use, you can contact the restaurant and ask what they do for gift cards.

they offer discounts for restaurants, among other things. Very useful. There isn’t a generic discount that you could use in all restaurants in Europe.
Or, if you have a certain restaurant in mind, contact them and ask.
