Robbie: When will my puppy start acting like a puppy?
My three month old puppy’s leg was in a splint for two weeks. My puppy has been walking without the splint, and using his leg for two weeks, but he doesn’t play like a puppy should. He dosen’t run, jump, or do anything but lie around. I walk him every day, and he doesn’t show any signs of pain. When will my puppy start acting like a puppy?

When he is taught to be a puppy. I’m guessing he didn’t get much playing or “puppiness” when he was in the splint. So he hasn’t learned. Play with him and teach him that it’s OK to run and jump.
At the age of 3 months, all 6 of my puppies were running and jumping around, we even had to get a fence in the backyard. You should ask a vet about it.Answer by Messykatt
Did you put the splint on him or did a vet?
If it was you, then you probably made it worse. And I also guess you don’t know what a “sign of pain” in a puppy is.
If the splint was put on by a vet, then you need to be asking the vet about this, because obviously something is still wrong. If you did this yourself, get the puppy seen today or get it into a rescue org where an owner can be found who will take of him the way he deserves to be taken care of, which includes vet visits. He’s not acting normal for a puppy and no one here can fix this. Please take care of him.
Answer by SheriAny medical issue regarding any pet should be directed to your veterinarian.
This is still a medical issue if he had been in a splint for 2 weeks. Anything that arises after any form of treatment could potentially be
a problem resulting from not having fully recovered or having an underlying condition.
Take him back to the vet to have him check or at the very least give the vet a call. They would be your best and only option for the correct information and treatment.
