azasa: when we say 2260index of nasdaq what does it show?
I want to know the index calculation of stocks of nyse,nasdaq,s&p 500, Russell 3000 ect.

If you go to each exchanges web site they will have a list of the stocks in the index and the weighting formula used. Nasdaq has spread sheets that you can download.
It is the moving average of each and every stock listed in NASDAQ at any point of time during day’s trading.
