I’m trying to decide on a course with the Open University, but I don’t know what the difference is between the two!

Course descriptions can vary slightly from year to year. If the website doesn’t provide a clear description check with the student counselor. The way I interpret the difference is that “computing” courses teach how to use computers as a tool, how to use enduser applications like Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Access.
Information Technology classes teach about networking (Cisco), servers (Microsoft, Linux), workstation operating systems (Windows XP, Windows 7, Linux), databases (Oracle, IBM, Microsoft), and programing languages (Java, C++, html, perl)
